Cayman Villas Travel Guide: Water Activities

The Cayman Islands is a special place, known for its crystal clear waters and endless days of sunshine.  The only true way to enjoy a day in, on or under the water is by following a few tips from our Cayman Villas team to ensure you make the most of your vacation.

Snorkeling and Diving

Experience the magical sea life under the unspoiled waters of the Cayman Islands with a snorkeling or diving trip with one of the local tour companies.  See the brightly colored fish dancing among the coral heads as you swim freely in their natural habitat, snapping photos at your pleasure.
The Cayman Islands is known as one of the top diving destinations in the world with famous sites such as Bloody Bay Wall, USS Kittiwake, Babylon and Orange Canyons.  Swim through the chutes, tunnels, crevices and reefs as you see the graceful eagle rays, giant grouper, garden eels and colorful tub sponges on a one or two tank excursion.

Kayaking and Paddle boarding

One of the island’s newest trends is paddle boarding up and down the Seven Mile Beach strip on a relaxing afternoon or to get some much need exercise in the morning hours.  Paddlers can stare down almost 40 feet into the clear blue water on a calm day and search for passing sea turtles and stingrays as they swim by.

Should you want to bring along your little ones, a one-hour kayak ride soaking up the sun in the calm-sheltered water along the shoreline.  Families and kids can also enjoy the Bioluminescence guided tour in one of Cayman’s small protected bays, providing millions of glowing micro-organisms that put on an amazing show at night.

Windsurfing & Kitesurfing

Warm and steady wind are the perfect conditions for a windsurfing or kiteboarding adventure and there are a number of companies in Cayman ready to take you for a private lesson.  Depending on weather conditions, you have the opportunity to launch from East End, South Sound, North Sound, West Bay or Seven Mile Beach.

Boating and Yachting

Pack a cooler full of your favorite drinks and let one of the many boat excursion companies provide you everything you need for a day out at Stingray City as a group trip or private boat charter.  There are a ton of companies to choose from, each with their own memorable activities and boats ranging from catamarans to sailboats, sunset charters to upscale, fancy yachts.

Parasailing and Jet skiing

Seeing the island from 800ft up is one of the most beautiful things you will ever experience, floating through the sky with the soft breezes in your face and spectacular views of the crystal clear waters.  Shuttle boats can pick you up along the Seven Mile Beach corridor from most locations so you can be well on your way to an experience of a lifetime.

Jump on a wave runner and crank up the speed to experience a truly exciting and unique trip to the Stingray City Sandbar on a jet ski tour.  The 2 ½ hour journey includes interactions with the southern stingrays, reef snorkeling and a tour through the mangroves.

Leave all your worries to us and let one of our dedicated staff assist you with organizing your next trip to the Cayman Islands where the sun is shining and the water is warm year round.
