Description

The Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park is Grand Cayman’s peaceful, 65-acre escape where natural beauty meets Caymanian culture and heritage. Wander through seven main areas — including the Floral Colour Garden, Orchid Boardwalk, Xerophytic Garden, Heritage Garden (with a restored traditional Caymanian house), Woodland Trail, and the Visitor Centre & Gift Shop — plus the lake, which attracts native birds and other wildlife.

Why We Recommend It

It’s one of the best “non-beach” days out in Grand Cayman: calm, beautifully maintained, and packed with things to see at your own pace. Whether you’re into nature, photography, birdwatching, or just want a quiet reset, the Botanic Park delivers — and the chance of spotting a blue iguana makes it genuinely memorable.

The neighbourhood

North Side

North Side is a tiny Caymanian style village on the Northern Coast of the Grand Cayman. It’s easy to miss, but well worth the stop on your way through to the ‘Eastern Districts’, as the locals call them. Most visitors pass through North Side on their way to Rum Point.
